The first week of June celebrates national volunteer week, a time to show your appreciation as an organisation for the extremely valuable time given by volunteers.
We are very fortunate at Barnstaple Town Council to have a very supportive group of volunteers and to show our appreciation for all they do we had two events. The first was an awards night in the Guildhall accompanied by a very yummy cream tea. The second was a day out to Torrington, we took the volunteers to Dartington Crystal, to see how the glass is made during the factory tour, to try some glass painting and to have a lovely lunch. We then went to the nearly expanded Torrington heritage museum which was a fascinating visit. Our volunteers are an invaluable asset to our organisation, and we felt it was important to treat them to a day out to show how thankful we are for their support.
